The Pahaque 5×7 side tent is my go-to side tent for the NuCamp T@G. I have used it at Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, state campgrounds all over Minnesota and North Dakota, and it has never let me down. Why Buy the Pahaque 5×7 Side Tent?

Here is how I use mine on a typical camping trip:

Getting dressed. Pull down the side panels for complete privacy and you have a comfortable, standing-height space to change clothes. At 5’6 I can stand fully upright with room to spare. This alone is worth it for solo campers who want privacy without hiking to a bathroom.

Morning coffee. I leave one or more of the sides up in screen mode and sit just outside my camper door with my coffee. It keeps the bugs out and gives you a defined outdoor living space right next to your trailer.

Evening wine. Same setup as morning coffee, just with better company and a glass of wine. You can fit two camping chairs and a small table in the ten.

E Bike Storage. Keep the sides down and store your bike inside out of the weather.

Overnight porta potty. This is the tip nobody talks about but everyone needs to hear. You can keep a porta potty in the side tent overnight so you do not have to walk to the campground bathroom in the dark. Total game changer for solo camping or camping in areas with distant facilities.

Rain shelter. When the weather rolls in, the side tent gives you a covered outdoor space so you are not completely trapped inside your trailer. You can sit with the sides down and watch the rain without getting wet.

Setup: How Long Does It Actually Take?

Under 10 minutes once you have done it a few times. The hardest part for a first timer is attaching the tent to the door channel on your trailer. It takes a little patience to get the fit right the first time, but after that it becomes quick and straightforward. See my set- up video below for tips.

Does the Pahaque 5×7 Fit My Trailer?

The Pahaque 5×7 attaches to the door channel on your teardrop trailer. It fits:

• NuCamp T@G (all years)
• Little Guy trailers
• Other teardrops with a standard door channel

It does NOT fit the NuCamp T@B 320. The T@B 320 has a different door configuration and requires the larger Pahaque T@B 320 specific side tent using the keder rail. Scroll down for T@B 320 recommendation.

I set this up solo. You do not need a second person.

Pro tip: Practice setting up at home before your first trip. Five minutes in your driveway will save you frustration at the campsite.

How It Holds Up in Wind and Rain

Very well. I have used this tent in genuine weather including wind and rain at campgrounds in Minnesota and North Dakota and it has held up without issues. The materials are quality and the attachment to the door channel keeps it secure in wind better than a freestanding screen room would.

That said, like any camping shelter, use good judgment in severe weather. In a real storm you want to be inside your trailer, not in the side tent.

Pahaque 5×7 vs 10×10: Which One Should You Buy?

I have used both and use both, so here is my honest comparison:

Choose the 5×7 if:

• You camp solo or with one other person
• You want something quick to set up and take down
• You mainly want privacy, bug protection, and a small outdoor room
• Storage space in your tow vehicle is limited
• You want to be able to attach the tent to either side of the T@G

Choose the 10×10 if:

• You camp with family, pets, or a group
• You want space for air mattresses so others can sleep in the tent
• You want a larger outdoor living and dining area
• You have room to set up on the “passenger” side of the teardrop (due to the indent for the wheel well).

For most solo teardrop campers, the 5×7 is the right size. It is enough space to be genuinely useful without being so large that setup becomes a chore.

What I Use Alongside the 5×7

A few accessories that make the side tent even more functional:

Tent carpet: I use a carpet on the inside of the tent for a finished feel and to help keep the floor of the then clean dirt. Makes the space feel much more like a real room. I also put an indoor/outdoor rug outside to keep sand and dirt from getting in the tent.

Heavy duty suction cups: Useful for attaching things to the outside of your trailer near the tent, like a small light or attaching on of the side walls to use as an awning over the door.

For NuCamp T@B 320 Owners

If you have a T@B 320, the 5×7 is not the right fit for your trailer. The Pahaque T@B 320 side tent is designed specifically for all T@B 320 versions including the Dutchman and Boondock/Outback. It offers 10 ft wide x 7 ft deep of floor space and attaches properly to the T@B 320 door configuration.

The Pahaque 5×7 is the side tent I recommend to anyone with a T@G or compatible teardrop trailer. It sets up in under 10 minutes, holds up in real weather, and genuinely changes how you use your campsite.
