Tents for Teardrop Trailers – Clam Quick Set Traveller
In my testing of tents and screen houses for teardrop trailers, I purchased the Clam Quick Set Traveller. You may have heard of Clam from their line of easy to pop up ice fishing shelters, they also have a line of screen houses of all different sizes. The screen houses are well made and are supposed to be easier to pop up because there are no long poles to erect, you just pull on each connector to pop it out and quickly set up the shelter. The Clam Quick Set Traveller is the smallest of these screen houses at 6′ x 6′ and 6′- 10″ high.
I also purchased the wind/privacy panels for this tent. They come in a pack of 3, so you would need to buy 2 packs if you want privacy and rain protection for all 4 walls of the tent. I have been covering all sides except the one with the door, and face that toward my camper.

Every review I have read says that the Clam Quick Set holds up very well in the wind and rain, although the roof may collapse under extreme conditions. Be sure to stake down the screen house and use the guy lines.
As you will see in the video below, it was not easy for me to set up the Clam by myself. It has become much easier to set up the more I use it.

Here are some tips for setting up the Clam Quick Set Traveller from viewers of my youtube channel:
- Carry a clean plunger with you to help pop up the roof panel. This can be carried in the tent bag.
- Hold the top of the side you want to pop out and stand on the skirt at the bottom and then pull quickly on the tie. The side pops right out.
- Tie one side to the
teardrop camper to help add resistance when putting it up. - Everyone says that it does get easier with practice!
